I have a question that is probably pretty simple. I have a Sonicwall controller at home with two VPN connections. If I have the Sonicwall on the network, and I connect to a local PC with IP address that is routed through the Sonicwall controller. I can access that computer over the VPN connection, but I can't access it from the outside. It is as if it is protected over the VPN connection. It will not let me access it over the VPN connection, but it will let me access it over the local network. I can ping it and access it just fine.
The IP address that you are using from the local network to access the machine is routed through the Sonicwall, by definition. But when you are using the VPN, you are connecting through an IP address that is local to the Sonicwall. That IP address is not routed through the Sonicwall, so you cannot access the machine by using an IP address that has been routed through the Sonicwall.
The Dell SonicWALL Global VPN Client supports PPTP and L2TP/IPsec protocols for VPN connections. However, support for Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is not available at this time. Users can connect to the VPN gateway from any PC running the Windows or Mac operating systems and Windows Mobile or Mac OS X mobile clients. The Global VPN Client can also be installed to run on a USB thumb drive or a CD-ROM. The Global VPN Client is available as a free download for Windows and Mac operating systems.
Some applications, such as Java, require that the application directories and libraries are updated to a newer version before the user can update. However, there are some applications that are not explicitly API-specific, such as the X Window System, the X server source code, are automatically updated as required. 827ec27edc
